Congratulations! I've been following along your journey for the last 4 years and you are such an inspiration! Continue to let your spirit shine thank you for sharing!
My heart just warmed for you! I cannot begin to imagine the elation you must feel to get to this point. This post was perfect. We all followed you on your journey by reading your blogs. It was only fit to show the result of all that hard work by showing pictures. Wise people say that a picture is worth a thousand words, well my friend your 13 pictures are worth an unquantifiable amount of words. Congrats to you and your family. I start my journey this fall at UIC Chicago. I will continue to persevere just as you have and many before me. Again--Congratulations and Bravo Zulu!!
I came across your story scrolling through my facebook page this morning, and reading it was truly motivating. I, too, am pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a physician after an almost 10 year career in chemistry. Deciding to buckle down and apply was probably the hardest decision to make, but I am pushing through. I wasn't accepted during the 1st application cycle, but after getting advice from the dean of admissions at my 1st choice school, hopefully this application round will be more successful. I refuse to give up! Thank you for continuing to follow your dreams!
I saw your story and had to share how much of an inspiration you are to me. I have been toying with the idea of going back to school, and on my birthday of all days this is what is on my timeline. I believe God works in mysterious ways and speaks through unlikely spaces. Thank you for sharing your story. I will keep this bookmarked so you can follow my journey.
I just stumbled upon your blog and wow, Im where you were 8 years ago.
I was sitting in my Cardiologists office yesterday and she looked at me and said "You dont seem happy with what you're doing Tom" I said "Im not" (even though Ive been very successful in my career) and she said "what did you always want to do?" "Be a Cardiologist" I said. "What are you waiting for then? Its never too late to go to medical school"
Everyone has always discouraged me from going. Im now turning 38 in 4 months and this little spark from cardiologist was at the right time in my life. So I started planning tonight. Then I read your blog--well I have a flight tomorrow and I'll read the whole thing :) But Im so inspired by what you have written.
I just want to congratulate you on your journey! So very few of us every think we can do what we really want to do. We dont dare to walk the path of our dreams. And thats because getting out of our own way is so very difficult. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey and again congrats on your dream coming true.
Tom, I am so proud of you already...Being brave enough to do something different takes courage, faith and believing in yourself and in your Creator...You must believe you have everything you need for this journey both naturally and spiritually...Every need is and will be met...It was definitely a walk of faith...Believing after you complete your prerequisites, a door will open and you will get into Medical school...Daily strengthen yourself for the journey...Do not neglect your mind, body and spirit...Recognize and acknowledge your SOURCE...and I have no doubt you WILL ACHIEVE YOUR HEARTS DESIRES...NOW, GO LIVE YOUR DREAMS!

Congratulations!! Your story is very inspiring. I am turning 40 and about to start med school in May. I felt thrilled when I got accepted. But I am also scared if physically I could handle the study load or not at this age. You look great on your graduation photos. I'd appreciated if you have any advice.
Congratulations! The perfect day!
